ANE19 A Palestinian Middle Bronze Age bowl, c. 2000 – 1550 B.C. : £ 120 NEW!

A Palestinian carinated bowl in coarse buff ware, measuring 70 mm/2.7 ins. high and 115 mm/4.5 ins. in diameter. Wheel marks around the body and base and minor overall surface wear, otherwise condition good. Middle Bronze Age, MBII, c. 2000 – 1550 B.C., from Jordan.

ANE20 A Palestinian Middle Bronze Age bowl from Haifa, Israel, c. 2000 – 1550 B.C. : £ 150 NEW!

A Palestinian red pottery bowl with pad base and flared rim, measuring 100 mm/3.8 ins. high and 128 mm/5.2 ins. in diameter. Some small rim chips, inoffensive surface wear and some patches of marine encrustation below the rim. Middle Bronze Age, MBII, c. 2000 – 1550 B.C., from the Haifa area, Israel.

ANE21 A provenanced Palestinian two-handled Early Bronze Age pottery jar, c. 2300 B.C. : SOLD

A two-handled bulbous red ware pottery jar, with short cylindrical neck, measuring 147 mm/5.8 ins. high. A single line of pricked decoration below the rim, and two rudimentary lugs on the mid-body. A large chip to the rim and some inoffensive surface ware. Early Bronze Age, EBIV, c. 2300 B.C., found at Ader, Moab, southern Palestine.
Ex Peter Negus Collection and acquired by him from V.C. Vecchi & Sons, Great Smith Street, London in February 1976.

ANE22 A Palestinian Early Bronze Age pottery jar, c. 2300 B.C. : £ 160 NEW!

A two-handled bulbous red ware pottery jar, with short cylindrical neck, measuring 140 mm/5.3 ins. high. A single line of moulded pellet decoration below the rim. A few small rim chips, some wear to the red slip but otherwise in good condition. Early Bronze Age, EBIV, c. 2300 B.C.

ANE23 A provenanced Early Bronze Age bowl from Jordan, c. 3300 – 3100 B.C. : £ 210 NEW!

A good-sized deep bowl of red brown burnished ware decorated with a single line of pellets below the rim, measuring 110 mm/4.4 ins. high and 185 mm/7.3 ins. in diameter. Restored from large fragments but a nice example of the type. Early Bronze Age, EB IA, c. 3300 – 3100 B.C., from the Bab edh Dhra’ area, Jordan.

Bab edh-Dhra' is the site of an Early Bronze Age city, located near the Dead Sea, in Wadi Araba, postulated by some as a candidate for the Biblical city of Sodom.

A good-sized unusual Palestinian orange ware single handled pottery bowl with small pad base, measuring 90 mm/3.5 ins. high and 145 mm/5.7 ins. in diameter. A single line of pricked decoration below the rim, the bowl in good condition. Early Bronze Age, c. 3100 – 2800 B.C.
