ANE25 A bronze spearhead or dagger blade from Marlik, Northern Iran, c. 8th Century B.C. : £ 275 NEW!

A bronze spearhead or dagger blade, with elongate triangular blade, short tang and central rib. Two rivet holes at the base, one retaining rivet. Blade measures 340 mm/13.4 ins. in length, has an uneven green patina and is in good condition with good metal. From Marlik, Northern Iran, Amlash Culture, c. 8th Century B.C. Mounted on a black wooden board for wall hanging.
Ex Trevor Cairns Collection and acquired by him from Folio Fine Art Ltd., London.

Mr Trevor Cairns was Head of the History Department at Sunderland College of Education and assembled a collection of ancient tools and weapons in the 1960s and 1970s.

ANE26 A large bronze tanged spearhead, c. early 1st Millennium B.C. : £ 285 NEW!

A large bronze tanged spearhead with broad central rib measuring 458 mm/17.9 ins. in length, with an uneven brown patina, some inoffensive edge wear, but otherwise in good condition with good metal. Probably from Iran, c. early 1st Millennium B.C. Mounted on a black wooden board for wall hanging.
Ex Trevor Cairns Collection and acquired by him from Folio Fine Art Ltd., London.

A large bronze socketed spearhead with an elongate leaf-shaped blade and broad central rib. The spearhead measures 381 mm/15 ins. in length and has an uneven brown patina, some inoffensive edge wear, but otherwise in good condition with good metal. Probably from Iran, c. early 1st Millennium B.C.

ANE28 A Luristan bronze dagger, c. 700 B.C. : SOLD

A Luristan bronze dagger, measuring 414 mm/16.2 ins. in length, having a long, tapered blade with a low relief, central ridge on both sides and geometric pattern hand grip which once contained inset wood or bone, now missing. A patchy dark green patina and some encrustation, and some minor roughness to the blade edges otherwise intact, Luristan, c. 700 B.C.

A large bronze tanged spearhead with pronounced mid-rib, measuring 390 mm/15.4 ins. in length, with an uneven green patina, condition good, Iran, c. 1200–900 B.C.
