The upper part (torso and head) of a brown terracotta female votive figure, broken at the waist, measuring 2 ins./53 mm high. The figure wears a flat perforated headdress, elaborate ear-rings and collar and has circular perforated breasts. The facial features, with include large elongate eyes, are clearly defined. Although fragmentary, the torso and head are undamaged and this is a nice example of the type. From Mari (modern Tell Hariri), Syria, c. 2000 B.C.
