An Irish Neolithic polished stone axe, made from dark speckled porcellanite, with a marked symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 137 mm/5.5 ins. in length. Some old chips to the body and the cutting edge chipped. From County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

A Neolithic subrectangular tan-and-cream coloured flint axehead, measuring 106 mm/4.2 ins. long. Bifacially worked, with a small area of cortex remaining and pleasant surface aging and patination. Found at Lakenheath, Suffolk, c. 3000 B.C.

BI21 A good-sized brown flint subtriangular pointed handaxe from Swanscombe, Kent : £ 295 NEW!

A good-sized mottled brown flint subtriangular pointed handaxe, measuring 128 mm/5 ins. in length. The tip lost (perhaps 10 mm) and some reworking of the flint around the point, and some small more recent chips to the butt, but a nice example with a semi-glossy patina. From Barnfield Pit, Swanscombe.
A rare opportunity to acquire a good-sized handaxe from this renown site.

BI22 A small Late Neolithic – Early Bronze Age flint celt from Windmill Hill, Avebury, Wiltshire : SOLD

A small Late Neolithic – Early Bronze Age white-patinated flint celt measuring 73 mm/2.9 ins. in length. The celt is bifacially flaked, finely worked, has a semi-circular cutting edge and a gentle posterior taper. A chip to the butt, otherwise complete. Found at Windmill Hill, Avebury, Wiltshire during the 1920’s –1930’s.

An Irish Neolithic polished stone axe, made from dark speckled porcellanite, with a marked symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 103 mm/4.1 ins. in length. The butt chipped, some old chips to the body, and some very small chips to the cutting edge, otherwise condition good.

An attractive Lower Palaeolithic pointed handaxe made of mottled orange-brown flint and measuring 119 mm/4.5 ins. in length. Some cortex remaining on the butt, otherwise complete and a nice example. Found at Ridge Pit, near Romsey, Hampshire, in 1993.

A fine Neolithic grey flint leaf-shaped arrowhead, measuring 35 mm/1.4 ins. in length, condition good. A very nice example, from Derbyshire, c. 2500 B.C.

BI27 A group of Neolithic worked flints from Derbyshire : £ 45 the group NEW!

A group of four Neolithic worked flints, including two broken bifacially flaked blades, one very finely worked, what appears to be an unfinished flint arrowhead and the lower part of a quartzite arrowhead with a bifurcated tang. The fragments measure from 34–57 mm/1.3–2.2 ins. in length. Reputedly found during field walking in Derbyshire, but the bifurcated tanged arrowhead possibly of North American origin, c. 2000 B.C.
