A horizontal fracture just above the elbows with an old repair, a small patch of discoloured glaze near the right hand, an old inoffensive chip to the base, otherwise condition good. Mounted on a natural mahogany wooden block.From the estate of the New York artist and publisher Floriano Vecchi (1921-2005) and acquired by him in the 1950’s to 60’s. Vecchi was a pioneer in silkscreening, and taught the technique to many artists, including Andy Warhol.EA3 Ushabti tomb figure, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C. : £ 325Turquoise glazed composition ushabti, of typical form, measuring 97 mm/3.6 ins. high. Uninscribed, a chip to the nose and some inoffensive pitting to the glaze but overall still a pleasing figure, 26th Dynasty, c. 664-525 B.C. Supplied in a silk-lined gift box.The perfect gift for an Egyptophile lady.EA4 Turquoise blue glazed faience ushabti tomb figure, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C. : £ 425Turquoise blue glazed faience ushabti figure of typical form carrying a pick and adze. Ushabti measures 118 mm/4.6 ins. high and has seven lines of hieroglyphic text on the lower body and a single column of hieroglyphs on the back pillar. Made from a rather dirty mould which has resulted in blurring of the hieroglyphs and some bubbles to the surface of the head region, but a good-sized attractive figure with good colour, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C.Reputedly originally acquired in Egypt during the 2nd World War.EA5 A good-sized terracotta ushabti, 21st Dynasty, 1069-945 B.C. : £ 295A good-sized terracotta ushabti, measuring 112 mm/4.5 ins. high, with worn white slip and traces of hieroglyphs and seed bag in black. Some wear but a nice example of the type, 21st Dynasty, 1069-945 B.C.EA6 A well-modelled pale blue faience shabti of Pa-Ir-Tah, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C. : £ 325A pale blue glazed faience shabti, measuring 114 mm/4.4 ins. high, the back pillar inscribed for Pa-Ir-Tah born to Amentayesnakht. Three horizontal fractures to the body repaired, the glaze worn, a chip to the head-dress and some discolouration on the reverse, but a well-modelled example, 26th Dynasty, c. 664-525 B.C., mounted on a mahogany base.Ex Peter Negus Collection.
