EA82 A long mummy bead necklace, Late Dynastic Period, c. 1085-31 B.C. : SOLD

A long mummy bead necklace, composed of blue, brown and black faience beads, both long tubular and small circular types, restrung on modern string with several pendant bead tassles, making an attractive necklace. The necklace loop approximately 1170 mm/46 ins. in length, with over 600 beads in total, condition good, Late Dynastic Period, c. 1085-31 B.C.

A flat-backed black glass amulet or inlay of Duamutef, the jackal-headed son of Horus, holding a folded cloth, measuring 30 mm/1.2 ins. high. Broken at the knees, with the feet lost, but the modelling relatively fine. Late Period, c. 600 B.C.

EA84 Two bronze figures of Osiris and Isis, Late Period, c. 600-300 B.C., ex Blanchard's Egyptian Museum, Cairo : SOLD

A group of three bronzes figures of Osiris, Horus and Isis (possibly Hathor), mounted on a common wooden base to form a triad, the figure of Horus broken at the ankles and now lost. The figure of Osiris, measures 66 mm/2.6 ins. high (excluding tang) and a significant part of the surface covered with green bronze corrosion products, but originally a relatively fine figure with fine facial details. The figure of Isis measures 63 mm/2.48 ins. high (excluding tang), is more worn, more crudely modelled, but lacks any green corrosion products. She wears a horned solar disc head-dress, with the tips of the horns lost. Both have dark patinas and date from the Late Period (26th-30th Dynasty, c. 600-300 B.C.).

R. H. Blanchard (died 1936) was an American antiquities dealer in Cairo during the early years of the 20th Century. His shop was located next door to Cairo's Shepherd's Hotel (a fashionable hotel for international travellers during the 19th and 20th centuries). He published a book "Handbook of Egyptian Gods and Mummy Amulets" in 1909.

A rare opportunity to acquire a group with superb provenance.

EA85 A fragmentary carnelian amulet of a striding kilted figure, Late Period, c. 600 B.C. : £ 100

The lower part of a carnelian amulet of a striding kilted figure, broken at just below the waist and with a pedestal base and back pillar. The fragment measures 23 mm/0.9 ins. high. A chip to the base, affecting one foot, but originally a very fine amulet, with incised detail, showing the toes and decoration on the kilt, Late Period, c. 600 B.C.
