EA31 A fine pale blue glazed composition figure of Anubis, Late Period, c. 664-332 B.C. : £ 2250 NEW!

A fine pale blue glazed composition figure of Anubis, striding forward, his arms by his sides, wearing a striated wig and kilt, with a pierced dorsal column, measuring 87 mm/3.4 ins. high.  Most of the pedestal base lost, below the ankles, and small chips to the top of the ears, but otherwise condition good and a fine statuette, much larger than typical amulets, Late Dynastic Period, 664-332 B.C.  Mounted on a black base. 
A superior artifact for the discerning collector

EA32 Polychrome wooden coffin fragment, Late Period, c. 664-332 B.C. : £ 450

Fragment from a wooden coffin decorated in polychrome with a uraeus and feathers above some hieroglyphic text, then a falcon with a sun disc over the shoulder above two partial columns of hieroglyphs which read "revered before". Colours used include green, red and white. Fragment measures 260 mm/10.1 ins. high and 101 mm/4 ins. in width. Two dowel holes and some small areas of damage. Late Period, c. 664-332 B.C.
Previously in the collection of Hugh Stanley Russell (1924-2000), a noted collector of Egyptian antiquities.

EA35 A wooden headrest, probably New Kingdom, 16th-11th Century B.C. : SOLD

A wooden headrest in three sections with a stemmed oval base, octagonal stem and upward curving pillow. The pillow found in association with the rest, but probably not originally belonging, some damage to the extremities. Headrest stands 190 mm/7.5 ins. high. Probably New Kingdom, 16th-11th Century B.C.
Ex Moustaki Collection, exported from Egypt in 1949 under licence.

EA36 A green glazed faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664-332 B.C. : SOLD

A green glazed faience ushabti holding two hoes, a seed bag over the left shoulder, with nine horizontal lines of text, inscribed for the 'Third prophet of Wepwawet, Hor, born to Ir(t)wrw'. Figure measures 114 mm/4.3 ins. high. A chip to the beard, a fracture across the middle repaired and darker green glaze with some black staining on the lower body, wood block mounted. Late Period, c. 664-332 B.C.
Previously in the collection of a US diplomat who was stationed in the Middle East in the 1950's and 1960's.
