ST64 A North American Archaic grooved axehead, c. 1000 - 7000 years B.P. : £ 95

A speckled green dolerite North American Archaic grooved axehead measuring 113 mm/4.7 ins. in length. Some minor wear and chips to the cutting edge, otherwise condition good. Archaic period, c. 1000-7000 B.C.

ST65 Two North African Neolithic miniature votive celts, c. 3000-5000 B.C. : £ 55 the pair NEW!

Two Neolithic miniature polished tabular votive celts, measuring 21 mm/0.9 in. and 25 mm/1 in. in length, one made of black basalt, the other made from green-veined milky quartz, the butts unworked. From North Africa, possibly from the Sahara, nice examples of the type, c. 3000-5000 B.C.

ST66 A large Archaic three-quarter grooved axehead, c. 1000 - 7000 B.C. : £ 135

Large North American dark green three-quarter grooved stone axe, measuring 157 mm/6.2 ins. in length. Minor chips to the cutting edge, a large chip to the butt, otherwise condition good. Archaic period, c.1000-7000 B.C.
A nice good-sized example of the type.

ST67 A good-sized quartzite grinder : £ 90

A good-sized quartzite ovate grinder, one side flattened through use, measuring 98 mm/3.6 ins. in length. Inoffensive surface wear, otherwise condition good.
A nice example of the type that fits snugly in the hand.

A good-sized circular quartzite hammerstone, measuring 76 mm/3 ins. in diameter. Inoffensive surface wear and one side percussion marked, otherwise condition good.

ST69 A large polished tabular greenstone axehead from New Guinea : £ 95

A fine straight-sided polished greenstone axehead of tabular form, and with a marked posterior taper, measuring 165 mm /6.4 ins. in length. A large chip to the butt, but otherwise perfect. From Papua New Guinea, probably 19th to early 20th Century A.D. Choice.
