ST23 A Danish mottled grey flint partially polished axehead : £ 95

Danish mottled grey flint partially polished axehead measuring 147 mm/5.8 ins. in length. Axe has a rectangular butt and a gentle posterior taper. Some ancient chips to the cutting edge, otherwise condition good. From Denmark, Neolithic, 3rd-4th Millennium B.C.

Grey flint partially-polished Neolithic adzehead of elongate form, rectangular cross-section and with a gentle posterior taper, measuring 144 mm/5.6 ins. in length. Some ancient chips to the cutting edge but an unusual form and a nice implement. From Denmark, c. 2000 B.C.

Grey flint partially-polished Neolithic axehead, of rectangular cross-section and with a symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 132 mm/5.1 ins. in length. A large chip affecting the corner of the cutting edge on one side but a nice implement. From Denmark, c. 2000 B.C.

Grey flint tabular Neolithic work axe of rectangular cross-section and with a gentle symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 139 mm/5.4 ins. in length. The cutting edge largely lost through chipping, but an inexpensive example. From Denmark, c. 2000 B.C.

A thick white flint square-butted partially-polished Neolithic work axe with a gentle symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 132 mm/5.2 ins. in length. The cutting edge lost through chipping and some iron staining, but an inexpensive example. From Denmark, c. 2000 B.C.

ST28 A Danish mottled grey flint, brown-patinated Neolithic axehead : £ 110

A mottled grey flint, brown-patinated Neolithic axehead with a gentle symmetrical posterior taper, measuring 166 mm/6.6 ins. in length, of relatively slender form. A large chip to the posterior, some smaller inoffensive chips to the cutting edge, and some small areas of cortex remaining. From Denmark, c. 2000 B.C.
