Probably from Denmark and unusual in this material, c. 2000 B.C.Ex Dr Basil Woodd Walker Collection formed before 1929.ST43 A large parallel-sided axehead from Mullerup, Denmark, c. 2000 B.C. : £ 245A large parallel-sided Danish Neolithic argillite flaked axehead measuring 220 mm/8.9 ins. in length, with a gentle posterior taper. The cutting edge entire and three inoffensive chips to the body. Probably an unfinished implement (but very nearly so) due two small protuberances which require removal. Found on 7th May 1958 at Mullerup, Denmark, Late Neolithic, c. 2000 B.C.
