Part of a late Roman sheet gold diadem that has been decorated by hammering over a number of Roman coins, the fragment measuring 103 mm/4 ins. in length. Some minor damage and tearing at each end, but an attractive and unusual artifact, c. 3rd-4th Century A.D.Previously in a private collection of ancient gold work formed during the 1950s to mid 1970s.
